Next event: will be in May 2025, dates to be confirmed.
Bungay Balls Up is a laid back juggling convention based on a small, traditionally run farm in the heart of the rural Suffolk countryside. For over 20 years Bungay has been a firm favourite with jugglers and non-jugglers alike!
Camping is available around a field of buttercups, surrounded by hedgerows full of birdsong. Luxury facilities are provided including 24 hour hot showers, communal tents heated by woodburning stoves and even a wood-fired sauna.
Bungay is a community-run festival with everyone chipping in to help with running workshops, recycling or lending a hand in the café.
You can practise your juggling & spinning of course, with a 24 hour juggling big top provided. If that’s not enough we usually have games including volleyclub, lawn croquet and table tennis. There’s also a board games tent, plus the annual poker tournament.
Hulver Farm’s buttercup field also provides an ample and lovely space for kite flying, kubb, model aeroplane flying, sunbathing and camp-cooking. We have on-site catering and a café tent in which you can sit, eat, play games and socialise with friends, both old and new.
There’s also a variety of places to visit nearby including the Sunshine Coast (Southwold being a particular favourite), wild swimming in local rivers, St Peters Brewery and the towns of Bungay, Halesworth and Beccles to explore with their cafes and shops. Walks around the farm itself and further afield are popular (especially if they end at a local pub!). There are also a range of geocaches in the area to discover.
On our second Saturday we run the show, which is put together from the skills of convention-goers. Of course, there is juggling in its many forms, but our show has in the past also included music, comedy, poetry, a slide-show, or even an X-factor competition! Expect the unexpected, and don’t be scared to join in. (We’re a lovely audience.)
Bungay isn’t just a juggling event – it’s a place to relax, unwind, catch up with old friends, meet new ones and discover a beautiful part of the country. Come join us in the buttercup field!
